Jumping H Farm Re3 Youth Sponsorship Program
JHF Re3 Youth Sponsorship program works in conjunction with Jumping H Farm’s regular lesson program. All donations are tax deductable under JHF RE3 Adoption and Therapy program, which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We have students from different ages and backgrounds who come together for a common goal, their love and passion for learning about horses. Riding lessons include so much more than just learning to sit on the back of a horse and trot around the ring for 45 minutes; these youth form a bond. Whether a student pays for lessons or is a part of our sponsorship program, students also work to ride -- we call it our “sweat equity program.” They learn to work as a team to see to the needs of each horse on the farm – stall maintenance, grooming, proper feeding and nutrition, and first aid. It is all a part of horsemanship and the stewardship of caring for these animals. For years Equines have been used in youth programs all over the United states to promote physical, occupational and emotional growth that translates metaphorically into everyday life. Confidence, trust, communication, patience, responsibility, social skills, focus, and affection are just a few of the life skills people learn when coming to Re3.
There was a letter written by Tracy Meisenbach entitled "Because my Daughter grew up with Horses" (you can read by clicking on the title) that explains in perfect detail what growing up with horses in your life means. If you are on the fence about this program, I encourage you to read this letter. Any horse parent will tell you how the importance of the life lessons that a horse teaches us. We at JHF Re3 want to offer the same opportunity to our communities's youth. Give them a structured, safe environment where they can learn and grow, make mistakes, be accountable and learn positive life skills.
We are always in need of sponsors for young riders who otherwise could not afford to participate in such a wonderful, educational, athletic sport. Your sponsorship goes directly towards the upkeep of the lesson horse program and helping properly outfit riders with safety equipment, such as helmets and footwear suitable for riding. This also allows sponsored riders to attend at least one show during the season if they choose.
